Perez has been the better of the two Racing Point drivers on most weekends, but his daddy didn't buy a Formula 1 team for him. With the idea that one might land Nico Hulkenberg or Sebastian Vettel for a reasonable price, Perez may be expendable.

OK, this gets confusing. Red Bull is losing the Aston Martin branding, which moves to Racing Point. Seb follows his old team to Racing Point/Aston Martin.

Lance Stroll's daddy also bought Aston Martin to bring in additional sponsorship to put on his son's racing car.
For Red Bull, losing the Aston Martin sponsorship may help smooth some ruffled feathers with Honda, who spent many more millions on engine development than the other three engine suppliers did since Honda joined up with Red Bull (prior to this year's budget cap, limits on dyno testing and ban on in-season engine performance upgrades).
